Inside is a ceramic heater that, according to Create, brings the iron up to working temperature quickly. In the updated version, the manufacturer says the heater was doubled in size for better heat transfer, and extra tension was added to the clamp so it can press harder for a springier curl.

Press the LOCK button where the clamp meets the handle and the clamp stays fixed; release it to rotate again. Can the clamp be locked?

Yes. It rotates 360° by default, but pressing the LOCK button where the clamp joins the handle fixes it in place. Release the button to rotate again.

Is there a size smaller than 20 mm?

No, this model is made only in 20, 25 and 30 mm. For tighter curls, look at the Create Titanium Weave marcel iron.

Can I straighten hair with it?

According to Create, no: the barrel is round and built for waves, so it will not give a straight result. Use a flat iron for straightening.

What voltage does it use?
