Description
This is the step-2 neutralizer of the Create Gloss perm line in a large 500 ml salon bottle. The manufacturer's own description is short and to the point: a hydrogen peroxide neutralizer made for Gloss iron perms and Gloss setting perms. The bottle carries a large number 2, the name Gloss Clinic Iron Perm Perm and the line FOR PROFESSIONAL USE ONLY.
What a neutralizer does is lock in the shape that the step-1 reducing lotion has opened up. While the peroxide works, the hair is fixed in the shape it was wound or pressed into, so after rinsing the curl keeps its bounce and its pattern. Create prints "Thermo-Activated Protection" on the label and says its effect is enhanced during heat styling. That matters for iron and setting perms, where the hair meets hot tools during the service.
The 500 ml size makes sense for a salon that perms on Gloss regularly. Step 2 runs out faster than step 1 because it goes on in two passes, and a separate bottle lets you top up the neutralizer without opening extra kits.
The manufacturer does not publish a full ingredient list or a pH for this bottle. The step-2 formula of the Gloss Clinic Setting Perm 150 ml kit is listed on the Create Gloss Clinic Setting Perm page, but that is a different bottle and we do not assume the two are identical.
Made in Korea. We supply it made to order and ship from Korea.
Who it is for
- Stylists who work with Create Gloss perm lotions and want the neutralizer in a salon size.
- Iron perms and setting perms: these are the services the manufacturer names for this step 2.
- Busy salons where the neutralizer is used up before the rest of the kit.
The manufacturer does not claim compatibility with other brands. If you perm with another brand's lotion, use the step 2 that comes with it.
FAQ
How long do I leave the neutralizer on?
5-7 minutes, according to the manufacturer. Split it into two applications about 3 minutes apart so it covers the full length evenly.
Which perm lotions is it for?
The manufacturer describes it as the neutralizer for Gloss iron perms and setting perms. Use with other brands is not claimed.
Is it suitable for every hair type?
The manufacturer gives no hair type limits for the neutralizer itself. Hair condition is handled at step 1: with heat, damaged hair gets a shorter processing time than healthy hair.
Does it include the step-1 lotion?
No. This is a 500 ml bottle of step 2 only.
Safety and storage
From the manufacturer:
- Stop using the product and see a dermatologist if red spots, swelling, itching or irritation appear during use, or if such reactions appear on the treated area after exposure to direct sunlight.
- Do not apply to areas with cuts, eczema or skin inflammation.
- If it gets into the eyes, rinse immediately.
- Close the cap tightly after use.
- Keep out of reach of children; do not store in very hot or very cold places or in direct sunlight.
How to use
The manufacturer's timing for a Gloss service:
- step 1: under a plastic cap, 10-15 minutes of natural processing; with heat, about 4-5 minutes for damaged hair and about 7-10 minutes for healthy hair;
- step 2 (this neutralizer): 5-7 minutes; the manufacturer recommends applying it twice, about 3 minutes apart.
Rinse the hair thoroughly afterwards and finish with a treatment. The manufacturer asks you to read the full instructions before use.
