Description

The Minimini in Multi Perm is a small Create machine with a big brief - the manufacturer calls it a compact but powerful multi perm. The thinking behind it: take the defined curl and staying power of a setting perm, and the minimal hair stress of a digital perm, and put both in one unit. Create says the result is a bouncy, full wave. It also does direct perms.

Create's own FAQ settles the question stylists usually ask first - is it a setting machine or a digital one? The answer is neither exactly: it is a multi perm machine that gives the spring of a setting perm with the softness of a digital perm, and because the temperature changes with the selected mode, you can match it to the style you are going for.

The head unit is compact at 350 × 330 × 230 mm and 10 kg. Mount it on the wheeled stand or hang it on the wall. The stand has a divided tray for tools and a locking knob for height adjustment. Rod cables come out of two flexible stainless steel arms, and the power terminals light up so you can see which rods are live. The first version of the machine dates from 2006.

It takes the Create digital perm rods from the Minimini in Multi Perm line - nine diameters from 12 to 30 mm, made in purple and in a hwangto clay colour.

Minimini vs Create Wave Master. The range is the same, 60-140 °C, but the control is not. The Minimini moves in 20 °C steps; the Wave Master adjusts in 1 °C steps and adds S-, M- and L-Style presets and a two-stage Special Mode. The Wave Master also has an LCD display, a sensor in every rod and is built for two clients at once. The Minimini is simpler and lighter - a 10 kg unit, 850 W, with a digital timer, mode buttons and a temperature scale on the panel. The two machines use different rods that do not swap between them.

Who it is for

  • Stylists who want digital and direct perms from a single machine.
  • Small salons and private studios - the unit is compact and there is a wall-mounted option.
  • Salons already working with Minimini rods that want a second machine for the same set.
  • Stylists who prefer a few clear temperature steps over degree-by-degree tuning.

FAQ

How hot does it get?

Up to 140 °C. According to the manufacturer, you can set it from 60 to 140 °C in 20 °C steps.

Do Twin Bell rods fit?

No. Create states that the Twin Bell and the Minimini in Multi Perm have different rod connectors and are built differently, so the rods are not interchangeable.

The heat keeps switching off by itself. Is that normal?

Yes. The machine cuts the heat once it reaches the set temperature and turns it back on when the temperature drops.

Stand or wall?

The wheeled stand moves between chairs; the wall version keeps the floor clear. We confirm the version when you order.

How to use

Once the solution is on, wind the sections onto Minimini rods and plug them in. Use the mode buttons to choose a setting for the client's hair, or the direct perm mode, press the temperature button to pick a step between 60 and 140 °C, set the timer and press start/stop. The final setting always depends on the solution and the hair.

When heating ends, let the rods cool until there is no warmth left. Create gives about 10 minutes as a guide; if the rods still feel warm, wait a little longer before applying the neutralizer.
