Description
These are the non-woven covers Create makes for the long rods of its Wave Master digital perm machine. In Korea they are sold as "bujikpo", which simply means non-woven fabric. You wrap the cover around the rod and wind the section on top of it. Create calls these covers a must for every Wave Master service: they stop the hair from touching the hot rod surface directly.
Each cover is a strip of non-woven fabric with a small plastic cap and an elastic loop on one edge. The manufacturer describes it as "one-touch": wrap it around the rod, hook the elastic over the cap and it stays put for the whole program. One side of the cover is a soft white fabric. Create's instruction is to wrap the rod with the white side facing out, towards the hair, so the hair is shielded from direct heat.
The set holds 20 covers of a single size, so there is nothing to match: one size fits the long rods across their diameters. The Korean retailer that lists this item gives the sheet size as 11.2 × 11.7 cm; we confirm the exact size when you order. For regular Wave Master rods Create offers a separate three-size cover set - this listing is for the long rods only.
Why stylists use them. Long rods come out on long hair, where a section makes several turns around the rod. A smooth, soft base makes it easier to wind the hair neatly without kinks and to slide the rod out without pulling. Clean winding is a big part of getting an even wave from root to tip and a bouncy, glossy curl.
The covers are meant for Wave Master rods and the Wave Master machine. Create does not list them for other machines.

FAQ
Do these fit the regular Wave Master rods?
This set is for the long rods. Create makes a separate three-size set for the regular rods.
Can I use them with another machine?
Create lists them for the Wave Master. It does not state compatibility with rods from other machines.
Which side goes against the hair?
Create says to wrap the rod with the white side facing out, towards the hair.
How to use
Before the service, put a cover on each long rod with the white side facing out and fix it by hooking the elastic over the cap. Apply your digital perm solution following its own instructions, wind the section over the cover and plug the rod into the machine. Choose the program, temperature and time on the Wave Master according to the solution and the client's hair.
When the program and cooling are done, take the rods out and then remove the covers. Replace a cover once it is stained with solution, stretched or out of shape - non-woven fabric is a consumable. Create does not say how many services one cover lasts, so judge by its condition. Store the covers dry and away from perm solutions.
How many you need. Create gives no per-head figure. It depends on how many long rods you use in a service: one cover per rod. A pack of 20 is handy to keep next to the machine as a spare stock.
